TECHNICAL DETAILS TO CONSIDER WHILE PURCHASING A VOLTAGE STABILIZER
Voltage stabilizers balance the voltage (Voltage) coming from the main transformer and automatically provide standard clean mains electricity 24/7.
Accordingly, all electrical, electronic, coolers, heaters, motor vehicles and industrial machines operate at full performance.
First of all, the voltage values coming from the main transformer should be measured. The voltage operating range must be determined.
Voltage Stabilizers are produced in standard values (275/450 VAC) as well as in wide operating band (200/400 VAC).
Stabilizers balance voltage according to the specified voltage operating range.
The power values and inrush currents of all electricity, electronics, coolers, heaters, motor vehicles and industrial machines in the location should be calculated. Total power values must be determined clearly. (kVA or kW)
Depending on the sensitivity of the equipment whose voltages you want to balance, the purchase of SERVO motor controlled or Static Electronic balancers should be considered. The voltage correction speed of servo stabilizers is 90 Volts/second. The voltage correction speed of Static Electronic stabilizers is 500 Volts/second.
For example, Static balancers should be preferred for CNC, PLC, Computer and software controlled machines, Hospital and Laboratory equipment. Because the voltage correction speed is very high. (500 Volts/second)
It is necessary to determine whether the Voltage Stabilizers will be installed indoors or outdoors. The chassis type used in interior designs and outdoor chassis productions are different.
Outdoor chassis can be protected against “rain, snow, storm, dust, smoke, flood, etc.” It is produced according to natural disasters.
Voltage stabilizers must be “FULLY PROTECTED” against overcurrent and power surges. In other words, it must be produced with “Overcurrent and Phase Protection Unit”. This is called CONTACTOR.
The protection unit is activated in cases of sudden voltage peaks, excessive load on the device, high and low voltage values and protects the stabilizer. It also prevents damage to all connected equipment. It prevents equipment from burning due to high voltage and overload.
Another most important detail in balancers is TRANSFORMERS.
It is produced with ALUMINUM or COPPER conductor winding.
Care should be taken to ensure that the transformers preferred have COPPER conductor windings.
COPPER is the second quality conductive metal in nature and does not cause heating and cooling problems.
It does not cause oxidation and intervenes in voltage more decisively.
According to all these technical details, the Voltage Stabilizer needed is;
- What should its strength be? (kVA or kW)
- What should be the voltage operating range? (275/450 VAC) – (200/400 VAC)
- What should be the Chassis Type?
- It must be produced in Fully Protected (Contactor) structure.
- Transformers with COPPER conductor windings should be preferred in production.
